Default OD issue

alright so a while ago after i got my tune and cam and 4.10's i noticed i dont seem to have an overdrive gear anymore, it only shifts through fourth and when i press tow/haul there is ABSOLUTELY no change in rpm....could this be due to OD being obsolete with the tune and gears? its not THAT big of a problem becase i dont mind chugging gas too much but just wondering if my 60e is crapping out on me

yea ive been thinking its my tune but im pretty sure its in the trans causing this issue. same with you, dumb question are you sure your actually engaging D on your cluster. its possible that the indicator is off

i dont have OD on my cluster i have tow/haul and its disengaged all the time and when it is on its supposed to keep OD off so you'd think at highway speeds if i hit the button my rpm's would raise showing that i WAS in OD but that never happens, i dont really need overdrive i was just wondering about it

WTH!!!!!!! you dont have 1,2,3,D on the cluster? thats odd and tow haul is nothing more then a button to help the trans with towing or hauling heavy loads around town.

my button doesnt seem to work after the tune

Cool

Your trans is a 4 speed auto. You say that your trans shifts through fourth?

Fourth gear = OD = D on the shifter.

In tow haul mode the trans will hold a gear to a little higher rpm to help haul a load but will still shift into 4th gear ( OD ).

I think what you mean is that you can no longer feel the torque converter lock up. It sometimes feels like the trans is shifting into another gear at about 45 mph put it is really just the converter locking up to improve fuel mileage and let the trans run a little cooler. Maybe the converter is not working properly or you just don't notice it locking up because of the 4.10 gears or the tune.

What size tires do you have and what RPM is it cruising at 60 MPH?
