Well i shouldnt say i am not happy with the TC it self, its a solid well built unit.
But, due to limit of time and my LQ4 blowing up over the summer i got stuck with a stock LQ9 with a Yank PT3200 TC. And the combination sucks. Which is too be expected since i never got my camshaft in.
Well long story short with prices of petroleum where they're at, i think i want to completely re-evaluate my driveline. Right now i want a TC that works well with a stock cam. I'm either going to put my stock TC back in or get a yank 2600 (the one that keeps my towing capacity) And maybe a torquey cam later. No more high-end max HP cams for me.
Thoughts? Stock TC or to Yank?

Wow man, you threw me off with your title.
I'd just call yank and have them re-build your TC as a 2600. It'd be cheaper than the other option of buying one and better performance than the stocker. That's my opinion.

Well i'm gonna call yank anyway and see what they say. However, what i'm worred about is the fact that the PT3200 is the smaller diameter TC. And restalled to 2600 it might not be as "tight" as i want it to be...

I'd still call Yank(which I'm sure you're doing) and let them give you their advice.
FWIW I had a TT3000 behind a mildly modified LQ9 and it had stock like drivability. Really a great TC for a truck that's still a DD and N/A.

My complaint really is not the TC itself... its the combination of the 3200 stall and the stock LQ9 cam. My fathers YukonXL (LQ4) pulls ALOT harder than mine. And driving around town, i only get about 8mpg o.O I guess what i want is something that doesnt stall to nearly 2800rpms when i pull out.
I think part of my problem is having the PT series rather than the TT series. Probably was the right choice when i had my LQ4 and cam. But right now i would rather put a more stock like cam (broad flat power) than my previous lunati cam.

That might be the ticket

But i dont have the tools or space to do a TC swap for a while so i got plenty of time to think about it. Thank goodness my 15 year old Pontiac runs lol
