New trans and SC2800 Stall Questions

Well I just finished installing my new trans and Yank SC2800 converter on Tuesday. So far I have been logging a little and trying to go easy on it based on the torque converter break in period but I have some questions about the stall. How many RPMs should it take to get going? It seems like the few times I have got it up in the 2500-3500 range it does not give me a real positive feel like I was expecting. The last stall I had was a Hughes 2200 a long time ago and it was just a little higher range than stock which I didn't notice nearly as much. Is this what I should expect or does it sound like I need to look at my tune.

not sure what you mean by 'positive' feel...can you describe it more? My truck starts to move the moment i let off the throttle. My flash speed is close to 3000rpm and brake stall is a bit less

Just to get moving it takes about 2000 RPMs and that's crawlin off the line. If I bring it up to 2500-3500 rpm I expected it to start moving pretty good but it seems to be reving about 1000 RPMs over the output I expectd. The only way I can think to describe it would be that in every gear the engine is reving 1000 rpm over what it should be to achieve that speed, even if I'm in the 2000-3000 rpm range.

Filled it with a quart of Dexton III and slid it on the input shaft without any real issues. It made its 3 clicks and took a measurement to the bellhousing and everything checked out fine. The SFI flexplate was about a 1/16th of an inch closer to the motor than the factory flexplate but Dave from Yank told me a matched set of 1/16th inch washers would take care of the spacing just fine. I'll get some logs posted and see if anyone can make heads or tails of what seems to be happening.
