new stall speed... how high should I go this time???
#1
I have a 9.5" PI 3200 I'm getting rebuilt/restalled again by PI... I have done a cam since then and a few other things. I have to get the converter rebuilt anyway so I figured I'd just go with a different stall while I was in there. I am thinking either 3600 or 3800... its a lockup converter so hwy driving will be fine. But I can tell so far that the 224/227 cam I have likes it above ~32-3400 RPM.
lemme know which way you'd go with.
BTW, its an ext cab 2wd with 4.10's

the only reason I keep thinking higher stall numbers is because this thing has been pretty tight in the past.... but if it would actually go to 34-3500 I guess it would work fine... I was just taking into account how this particular converter acts.

I voted 3800 because they are underrated and the diff between a 3600 and 3800 isnt even going to be noticeable at that level. PIs are tighter and my Fuddle 3900 was fine driving around but I like bigger stalls too. Your 60fts will be awesome with a 3800, cam and a 150 shot on some tire
I would venture to bet most that ahve voted havent even driven a truck with a converter that would flash that high
Its not that bad at all

yeah, I agree, since it is so tight to begin with, a 3800 will probably be the best performer out of the two... not much difference. I just hope everything behind the motor/converter decides to stay together this time.... (crossing fingers)
