Ok, so this is my first vehicle with an auto, I have a decent understanding of the trans itself. This weekend I went on a road trip and had trans temps of ~165 or less most of the time. The only time it got high was when I got stuck in a traffic jam and it got to ~195+. So the general question is whats a "good" range for trans temps?

A good range is about 180 degrees....that's what GM recommends you shoot for. The cooler your tranny the longer it will last but too cold and it hurts your tranny.

TXsilverado: What hood is that on your truck? I was looking at the "C5" hood from SpeedEng just wondering about your hood.
