New to me 2004 Silverado too low
Hi all, I just bought this 2004 RCSB with what appears to be a 4/6 drop . Front has spindles and some sort of gray colored lowering springs. The rear has been flipped and C Notched with what appear to be stock length shocks with no shock extenders and the front has Belltech shocks. Truck currently has 245/50/20 tires that rub on the inner fender and it rides terrible. I have ordered new front control arms, tie rods, etc. I think I would like to end up raising the the truck to a 2/4 drop by leaving the front spindles and putting stock front springs back in. My question is, since the rear is flipped, would adding shackles raise the truck back up in the rear or lower it more? Do I just need to un-flip the axle and add shackles and hangers/shocks tot he rear?
Thoughts ?
Thanks

You can get lift hangers and lift shackles to raise the rear.
The front most likely you need an OEM spring.

What drop do you want in the rear? I wouldn't flip anything back over I would just buy a lift hanger and lift shackle. I wouldn't even touch the flip kit.

It may have more drop than 4/6. The go to tire for a 4/6 is the 275/45/20 which is taller and wider than your 245/50/20. Stock length shocks on the rear is like a solid strut that offers no travel, my guess is they're over the counter shocks that are for a different application and are shorter in length. My 4/6 (spindles/springs/flip) on the slightly bigger 275/45/20 tire only rubs on the biggest bumps and dips in the road meaning not very often. I have Belltech Street shocks on all 4 corners with two extenders on the rear.
Where on the inner fender is the tire rubbing?
My front tires have rubbed the paint off the inner fender at the 12:00 o'clock mark...
like I said it's on a rare occasion I hear the contact.

@shakenfake I think I would like to end up at 2" front and 4" rear. Seems like returning the axle to the bottom and doing lowering shackles and a hanger would be the easiest, will obviously leave the C-Notch. I would just like to hear if the hangers affect ride quality, because I have had a shackle leveled truck before and I'm okay with that ride.
@RedXray I have thought it might be lower than 4 inches drop in the front, it has rubbed quite a bit on the top inner plastic fender and some on the metal at 12 o'clock. I've done quite a bit of reading on tire sizes with lowering kits and it seemed people were able to run a tire size quite a bit larger than mine with no issues.
Keep in mind, my long term goal with this truck is 11.50-12:00 1/4 mile times with forced induction later. I'm just trying to get it in shape first. Thank you all.

I found the lift hangers you were talking about and that looks like exactly what I need to raise the rear 2".
BTW, here are some pics of the rear suspension( has factory hangers and shackles 0
Thank you .
