Default new gears are here: question on install?

the 3.73s that i ordered came in today. i plan on having a dyno tune done but its going to be a couple of weeks before i can get tuned. i want to put in the gears now. so my question is will this hurt anything. does anyone else have different gears with no tune. or should i just wait?

I had my ABS light and parking brake light go off about 1 mile down the road after doing my gear swap. Your front wheel speed sensors will be reading different from what the PCM thinks the VSS is doing.

you may get an abs light, but it wont hurt anything at all. Just remember that your speedo will be slightly off, it will read higher than you are actually traveling.

with 205/75/16 & 3.23's your speed in 3rd gear @ 2000rpm will be about 50mph.
with 205/75/16 & 3.73's your speed in 3rd gear @ 2000rpm will be about 43mph.

So, in theory, your shift points and TCC lockup speeds will be about 7 mph off. Not a big deal. You may notice a gear hanging a little longer or shorter and the tcc not applyng when it used to until you get that gear # changed to help the speedo/vss reporting. You may not notice a difference due to the a wide shift selection in your settings. Obviously your speedo will be off. Everybody above is right, ABS light, speedo, and shifts. No harm no foul, get it changed though.

Default Youll prolly get a

abs and parking brake light. I drove mine for about a month. I went from 3.42 to 4.10 and my speedo was way off but it wont hurt anything..
