New Ball Joints/Tie Rod Ends - 2006 VMAX - Part numbers?
#1
I just ordered some Bilstein shocks for my truck, thanks to some members on here that helped me with finding the correct part numbers for my truck. While I install the bilsteins I would like to install new Moog ball joints and tie rod ends.
My question is: since I have a 2WD vortecmax will the part numbers for these parts be the same on all 1500 Silverados? I want to make sure I get the correct parts for my truck and I don't want to have to go back and forth with the person at the parts store.
Any help would be much appreciated!

The lower ball joints will be different on the 2wd trucks with springs as the control arm is different.
The vortec max should have the same lower control arm as a 4wd model. I'm pretty sure they will ask you at a parts store if you have coil springs or not.
The upper control arms should be the same aswell. And tie rod ends will be different only because some trucks have steering racks and the vortec max should have a idler and pitman arm set up.

You have a truck with torsion bars, they are press in style, not a bolt in style.
4wd trucks have torsion bars, thus being the same thing. Not knocking you or anything but just searching a little bit and knowing what style suspension setup you have makes buying parts way easier.
