Need Torque Converter Help!
#1
Finally decided on a transmission I think, Performabuilt Level 2. Was gonna do the 4l80 swap but it seems like a bit of an *** pain. I have a 09 ECSB Silverado Z71 with the 5.3, and I will be adding some mods soon and will be pushing around 500rwhp. I also have a 6'' lift and am running 35'' tires. I need help with a torque converter because im not sure what would be good for me. This truck is my daily driver, I have never been to the track, but may start, just need advice on what would work for my application. I would like to keep some daily drivability, but also want it to come alive when I put my foot in it. Unfortunatly my expertise is with manual trannys because thats what I run in my C10s, this is my first truck with an automatic so this is all new to me. What size/brand would you guys recomend?

Give Chris at Circle-D a call and discuss your plans for the truck and he'll recommend a converter that will suit your needs. They offer converters ranging from an upgraded TrailBlazer converter up to a billet multi-disc with a violent lockup clutch. I have the billet multi-disc that stalls around 2800 behind my 5.3 and I couldn't be happier with it's street manners while daily driving. I'm figuring that it will flash to 3000-3200 behind my future LQ9. Match the converter to any possible cam/head/gear/powerband combo that you may be planning while keeping your daily driving needs in mind
