Default Need help from the manual guys...

I lost the o-ring that goes onto the line that hooks to the clutch master cylinder. I tried calling the dealer but they can only sell me the clutch line and master cylinder which costs $166. Kind of expensive for an o-ring eh?

We've tried a bunch of different size o-rings out of a little o-ring service kit and no luck. I would get a little bit of pedal then the fluid would go past the o-ring. What Im wondering is, is the o-ring a little fatter if you will. Meaning is the ID the same as the o-rings we tried but the OD much bigger.

I was wondering if any of you 5 speed guys or T56 guys remember looking at the o-ring? I took mine out over a year ago and I can't remember. I mean worse comes to worse, I will have to buy the new master cyl and line seeing thats the only thing holding me back from driving it, but I'd rather not.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you have to get it from the dealer, give me the part number and i'll have my buddy get it at cost if this helps.

If i'm thinking right that seal is not a round edged o-ring, but a squared edge o ring with small grooves on the flat sealing sufaces.

I've been looking over on tech and havnt really found anything yet. One thread had a pic but the pic was gone and the guy was like no wonder why a standard o-ring didnt work. So at any rate, at least I dont feel like a dope for not getting the clutch bled.

Yes it looks very similar to that, just that our truck has a 90* elbow to go into the master cylinder. But then again its been over a year since I remember looking at the o-ring.

I'm pretty sure it's the same seal gm has used since the early 90's. In a last resort, i'd buy a master cyl from the parts store, and return it later....minus the oring of course.
