I'd guess that they will work just fine. Don't try new shocks until you install the shock extenders and notch. I think you'll be happy.

Ok sounds good. I'll try the c notch, and extenders, as well as my current shock, and leaf spring setup.

Do the extenders just allow you to use stock shocks instead of the crappy belltech shocks?

No, they move the mount away from the axle a couple of inches, and that puts the shock closer to a proper working angle. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Aww I see. So you still use the shocks from the lowering kit. Thanks for the info

OP, when do you plan on doing the upgrades?

I plan to do the install within the next month. I'll be ordering the extenders today. Just gotta decide which brand I want to go with. Also a part of me was thinking about using the factory shocks, instead of the shortened Edelbrock IAS shocks I have, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. The factory shocks had a decent ride and are hardly used (They're those blue shocks that came with the upgraded suspension.) I was thinking this because my friend was saying that the factory shocks with the extenders would be a better ride than the Edelbrock shortened shocks, basically due to the limited travel of the shortened shock. Ultimately I still want to make sure the truck handles well and gets decent traction.

I had edelbrocks on my last truck and really liked them but I also had the extenders too.

Good to know Barley. So were the Edelbrock shocks the ones for a lowered truck? I'd rather not have to replace the shocks if they'll work with the extendors/extensions (I'm planning to get the Belltech ones: 2003 GMC Sierra Belltech Shock Extenders - Belltech Shock & Strut Extension Brackets)
