Default my 60E wont go into gear

so i was driving my truck today and i gave it full throttle and when i hit redline it wouldnt shift. it slapped the rev limiter for a couple seconds before i let of the gas and then there was no gear at all . no reverse or nothin. tranny was running perfect, no slipping until this happened. tranny fluid is full and looks good, smells a little burnt but nothing serious. could this just be the pump going? any help would be good.

sounds like its your pump, take it loose and make sure you are still getting pressure, if this aint the problem then there is a electrical plug on the passanger side of the transmisson beside the pan, not sure what its called but be sure to check it and make sure there isn't any dirt or anything in it and that its getting a good connection ive heard of this happening before

I'd bet your pump said "buh-bye". If you can't manually get ANY gear, leave the engine running and check the fluid level. If the the level seems overfilled with the engine running, start looking at the pump for sure. One sure way to prove that theory is yank the inlet line to the cooler (from the trans), and see if the fluid pumps to the cooler. If not, you have a busted pump.

**Note: have a bucket to put the loosen hose in just in case the pump does work, or else you'll spew fluid all over.

Good luck!
