Default More suspension drop ?????'s

Looking to complete my drop on my 04 GMC Sierra 1500 ECSB.

Currently I'm running stock suspension with Belltech 2" shackles on the rear. I am wanting to do a 2/4 or close to it, no more than 2/4. I am thinking Eibach coils up front, but not sure about hangers in the rear, I guess they are all about the same, they must be compatible with the belltech shackles. Also, just wondering if changing out shocks is necessary and if so, what shocks are you guys using. I am looking for a good ride, not overly rough, but sporty. Also, with the ECSB, I assume that I am going to need the carrier bearing and what about Pinion shims?

I am running 275-55-17's so there shouldn't be a problem with clearance. Also, with the coils up front, is there any loss of turn radius or anything?

Let me hear advantages/disadvantages. I've done the shackles on many trucks but that is as far as I have ever lowered one.

YOUR ANSWERS, yes all hangers do the same damn thing, find what ever set makes you happy. You said you dont want a harsh ride, then dont get coils. Will coils effect your turning radius, NO,THE ONLY WAY to lower the front and keep a nice ride is with McGaughy's, yes they are more money but they are worth every penny they also will have the tightest turning radius out of any spindle, they do not use a flipped tierod design

you might want to look at the djm 2" control arms. keeps the stock springs for the ride quality..... or the hotchkis tvs system. you might want to run a little stiffer shock on the back if you do any towing or hauling, so it doesnt bottom out. stock shocks up front will be fine.

I am running drop control arms on mine and have no issues. Ride is close to factory since the stock springs are retained. Like said above though, I have heard good things about Mcgaughy's Spindles so you can't go wrong there either. For a factory like ride in the rear, hangers will be just fine.

Toyo does a 275/55/17 in their Proxes ST radial. It's a good performance tire too.

I have the Hotchkis TVS on my truck. Rides a little rougher than it used to, but handles much better. Turning radius wasn't affected at all. My tires are(275/60/17) and there are no issues.
