Default After 4l80 Transgo - No Reverse 3rd or 4th - SOS!

Well after installing the Transgo - I have No Reverse, 3rd or 4th. I think it might be the manual valve body as the cylinder was a little tight going in. I need help Please advise. Thanks

I found that the installer had drilled a couple of the holes (in the partition) in the wrong location on the Valve body. PITA! My thought is to weld or replace the VB. Any thoughts?

It is an 1/8 hole in the bottom partition. Do you think it will warp if I was careful?

You're talking about the seperator plate? New ones are cheap...go to the local tranny shop. I actually have welded one up and it was fine.

I would buy a new separator plate. Its the partition at the back of the valve body. the two 0.125 holes were put in the wrong place by the installer. I found that mistake on Saturday. PITA! So Im hoping that I can re-weld the valve body slightly just to plug up the holes. Advice?

i had that exact same prob after installin my hd2 on my 80e, it turned out to be that i didn't install the new plate that bolts in between the manifold pressure switch and the valve body, and covers the pan side of the 2-3 3-4 solenoids. i know the 60 and 80 installs are different but, mine had that same prob!!

heres my install pics and thread if ya want to look:

Thanks for the thread. I had the mistaken holes plugged and bolted the valve body back on and now the transmission works well.
