Default Lost third gear in my 4l65e

Well put the cammed 6.0 in it and put a tci 3k stall in well it hasnt really shifted right since i put it back on the road. Well lost 3rd gear the other night im looking for performance rebuild kits ne one have any ideas? Im planning on going to a 2800 or so circleD stall. The truck is 2003 ext cab 4x4 z71 with lq9 6.0 zo6 milled port and polished heads and 216/218 112lsa cam long tubes and 4:56 gears and 285 same tires. Trans is 4l65e. Any help would be great.

I lookes into that alot of converting! Plus i heard they rob horse power and fuel mileage.

if you cant keep a 60e behind 400hp then you need to not touch transmissions.


you are planning to build the trans yourself? there is a lot that goes into making one last. it is very possible for you, but it will take more than just new shiny parts

You have any tips on making a 60e last? How do you setup the 3-4 clutch pack? Clearances, clutches, steels, etc..

Its not only the clutch pack. you have centrifical force pulling a seal out on the piston causing fluid leakby. have to fix that along with getting the valve body setup correctly.

i usually use a z pak set to very tight clearances and there is a kit to help the piston also.

I got a friend doing mine he just patched the one in my camaro its been holding up great but everything is pretty much stock. He wants to do a complete rebuild so im going to give him the chance he wants but i want the best stuff to put in it and any help with what else can be done to help us along the way would be great
