Weird...... and I'm tired!! LOL Really have to sit down and take a peak at the power flow chart to figure out what is really screwed up. Non the less you need a trans. The problem in definitely an internal failure. Feel free to give Chuck or myself a call to discuss your situation. Vince

I dorve around with no 2nd for weeks, lol. I still had 4th and reverse though.
I hate auto transmissions, mostly becasue I break all of them. Maybe its time for a T-56 conversion?

Running behind an unmodified V-6? Not sure you need to spend the coin on a built trans. You could rebuild yours for much less. Depends on if you plan to build up performance later or sell it. If its just a DD and you will only have it a couple more years, maybe just a cheap rebuild.

SlowHoe, what was your problem when you lost 2nd? I'm not so sure it'd be such a cheap rebuild would it? I'm going to try to make it by the dealer today and I want to hear 1 of 2 things. Either that it'll only be a couple hundred bucks for a rebuild, or that I'll need a new transmission and he's going to charge out the a**. In that case, I'll use the excuse to drop in a built unit. I have plans of dropping in a 6.0L and a radix... but we all know how those go. Just plans... and have been my plans now for about 2 years I guess. I plan for this one to be something I hold on to though.

I have no idea what broke. think I broke the sunshell once, the 2-4 band once, I cant keep up. I'm on trans 5 (4L80E this time) and I think it has issues.
Find a junk yard and grab a complete unit to swap. Just have to wonder now if the converter got contaminated.

If you're going for a performance build, FLT is the only company I would go with.

Dont buy any trans off Ebay, its all ****. Ive been there.
