What ever happened to the long bars that were supposed to be offered? Did they work? The lightning guys have great short times with them. I have a plasma cutter and a welder. Anybody know a good supplier for chromoly and heim joints . Any links on how to find the proper length for GM trucks ?

 

I remember a long thread for some long bars that were going to be made. Not sure what ever came about though. I know a lot of guys have run cal-tracks with good results.

I am working on some calculations for length of bars on a rcsb to provide different levels of antisquat. I have to make some measurements on my truck to plug in to the graphic I have. Once I am done, I will share it with everyone.

 

Yes please, I am VERY interested in your figures. My crude measurements are for 48" bars with multiple mounting holes. I picked up a plasma cutter this past weekend and I am gonna try my hand at building these things.

 

Both of you keep up posted on how everything turns out. I want to try some longbars on my truck do to the cost of caltracs...

 

Don't expect to save much . Have you priced 96" of 1.5" .120 wall chromoly tubing, chromoly inserts, and quality heims lately. I think it'll cost me 200 in parts alone. I just like the theory behind long bars better. I want the lift on the front verses the the caltracs just pushing the rear tires down. Plus if I build them, I can make them as adjustable as I want.

 

im running 40" bars on my truck, Looking back I should have tried cal-tracs but the grass is always greener. I got rid of all my wheel hop and on a ext cab truck, the cg is too far forward to really make use out of long bars. There are several guys having good luck on single cabs, but my pb is a 1.78 but traction is a issue on a mt 17" radial.

The front is acutally mounted different now, it uses a plate with tabs that is bolted to the frame with another plate on the inside of the frame. I know these are descriptive, but its all i took when building them.

 

These are for non flip kits right?????
