Default Locker question

What is the difference in some of these lockers that just fit right in the original caseing vs. the ones that have there own caseing and you just slide the axles in and bolt gears on?

It seems the Detriot Tru Trac is VERY popular here, but I don't want to over spend on a locker.

My truck is just a hi performance street truck with no racing at all. Just a little playing on the street and towing and hauling.

detriot is one of the best in the industry for lockers. as far as functionality both types of lockers work in the same way. the only real difference is the design in the two. one replaces the spider gears in the factory case and the other replaces the whole carrier.
