Just swapped in my new tanny and motor...need help please!!

Default Just swapped in my new tanny and motor...need help please!!

I went to pull the gear shifter out of park and into gear, well i cant get it to go back into park now!!?? What gives? What am I missing??

is there any adjustment on the linkage down by that module on the side of the tranny pan?

what do you mean exactly!?? I put the cable back on but I don't know why it's not working though

It sounds like the linkage might be off a little bit. Where did you mount the cable bracket? Can you pull the linkage cable off the post on the tranny?

I didnt even see a bracket!! It just kinda wraps around the back end of the T-case then back up to the front of the truck to the post on the tranny!! Should there be a bracket holding it?

Oh and yes I can unscrew the nut and pull it back off no problem!!

Yes, there should be. I bet this is your problem. The bracket keeps the cable sleeve stationary while the cable itself moves in and out to change the gears. If there is no bracket the cable is free to move around however it wants. When you pull the selector into gear, you are pulling on the cable, which is fine. When you go to put it back into park, you are pushing the cable back out of the sleeve, and if there is nothing to hold the sleeve in place, the whole cable/sleeve will just move around instead of actually shifting the tranny.

I figured the problem was down there, I just didn't elaborate as much

Dude you freakin rock!!! I saw the bracket laying in the kit that came with the tranny but didn't recognize what it was for. Everything is A. O. K. now
