I didnt even see a bracket!! It just kinda wraps around the back end of the T-case then back up to the front of the truck to the post on the tranny!! Should there be a bracket holding it?

If there is no bracket the cable is free to move around however it wants. When you pull the selector into gear, you are pulling on the cable, which is fine. When you go to put it back into park, you are pushing the cable back out of the sleeve, and if there is nothing to hold the sleeve in place, the whole cable/sleeve will just move around instead of actually shifting the tranny.
you've been there before, huh?

I figured the problem was down there, I just didn't elaborate as much
