Default Jumps 500 to 1000 rpm before shifting into 3rd!? Please help me out.

It seems to have just started recently when I added my new intake as if there is an intake leak so I put the factory one back on and same thing... Really hard first to second shifts and the most erratic crazy 2nd to third shift imaginable. It jumps at least 500 rpm each time and its starting to make me just want to run it into a tree and say screw it.. It an 04 4x4 with a 5.3. Thanks in advance

your maf is unpluged most likely, recheck everything.an unplugged maf will cause very hard shifts as our talking about.make sure you unhook your battery when you hook it back up.

Does your new intake have an oiled filter? If so, your MAF sensor just may be dirty.......

As crazy as it might sound the problem actually stops when I unplug the MAF. Just for safe measure I unplugged it then unhooked and rehooked the bat. then test drove it and the prob still persist's. Is my MAF just DONE or could it be caused by an intake leak? It seems like its running VERY rough now. Almost like its out of oil. Its not just trying to explain...

Sounds like a dirty MAF to me. Make sure all of the clamps are tight, and clean your MAF with a can of electrical contact cleaner......
