Isn't the mounting surface for the backing plates different between the 10 bolt and 14 bolt?

And just to reiterate, I'm running Oakley's custom aluminum backing plates with 1990 silverado front disc brakes and rotor.

Your 14 bolt is the axn hybrid axle which uses the smaller 10 bolt tubes.

The 9.5 14 bolt from a 2500 has a bigger housing

 

So you want a 9.5 14bolt from a gmt400 truck

 

Mine is from a gmt400...

 

The rear would be built using a gmt800 2500hd core
