Default Installing used 3.73 gear set question

If I currently have a 1997 Tahoe with the GT4 (3.73 gears) and G80 (locker) and I have stripped out the ring and pinion. If I buy a set of used 3.73 gears out of a truck like mine that already have the pinion pressed on the pinion shaft should I just be able to install them into my rear end and be good to go? Basically I am trying to fix my truck as cheap as possible because I am about to sell it to a guy who will be replacing the front and rear ends later down the road. If the answer is no then could I buy the used set and then get a new master install kit and correctly re shim them? Thanks

as long as they came out of another "hoe" that had no problems then you should be good to go. somebody correct me if im wrong. i would have swapped the whole rear-end and housing if it was me.

If you decide to do this I have a set. They are supposed to be sold but I haven't heard any thing from the guy in a while. I'll send him a PM right now to see if he's taking them.

If I don't hear from the other guy by in the morning I will sell them to someone else. They are boxed up at my office and read to go.

No I have not emailed you. I just need the rear and will it work on a 97 rear end?

Knock off a little off the price and let the buyer get the gears he wants to put in there.

Yes they will work in a 97. I got a PM from him last night saying "the money order is in the mail" so I guess I had better wait a day or 2 and see.
