Yes this is true they are mode by Dana but IMO and alot of others it seems If it came factory off a ford its a ford part... If you did a duramax swap in a F150 would you say u put a Chevrolet motor in it? or Isuzu?

I would say I put a duramax in an F-150. So I guess we should all call the allison tranny a chevy?

Yes I would consider it a Chevrolet part but built by allison... but were gettin away from the origional post to much here now
