Default i think i broke my detroit.

looks like when the axle snapped (again) it took out the portion that the bearing presses onto. the inner bearing piece itself that presses on was cracked all the way down and the part of the locker that it presses onto was crack half way down. looks like i can get parts but i have no way to verifiy that i'm looking at the right parts.

i'm going to post a link and you guys let me know if i'm choosing the right part.
at the bottom click C locker tab. i think number 9 part number 71088
is what i need. i need the biggest piece, the whole body cause it was the driver side which is the side the ring gear bolts to.

That sucks. Are you breaking stock axles or aftermarket ones?

stockers. i thought about after market axles but if i break one of those i'd be pissed. so i'm just going to upgrade to a 14bolt from an new model escalade. these ones are breaking with a small amount of wheel spin and 7+psi launches. seems around 5psi they are ok but soon as i get a good good launch they snap.

What detroit did you break? The full locker or the true trac?

If its a full locker you may want to consider going Truetrac so your not putting the axle in a bind when making turns.

it was a full locker. it shouldn't had anything to do with turns. both axles were fine being beat on day in and out. both broke with a lot of boost on launch. my truck twist to the driver side rear when it launches, so that tire gets the most weight.

man i cant beleave your having so many problems with your rearend def time to upgrade to a 14 bolt these 10 bolts just ant cutting for you

im guessing its a weight factor thats making them break cause theres plenty of trucks on here running faster then you not snapping axles

There's a few Caddies running faster and not breaking them.
I'd say the full locker is making the axles weaken over tim. but that's my opinion.

the second axle was only in there for 3 weeks. the first one had been in there for 2+years running the locker. there are alot of high power guys runing the locker as well. i think its just my fat *** hoe with a ton of power. funny thing is both broke right after having wheel spin. 5psi the truck would just barely turn them over and launch but at 7+ it would spin real good, hook and POW. and if you watch my truck from behind it torques to that side. most the guys running way faster times than me are usually lighter than me. those caddies, are the AWD? if so they aren't putting all the power to the back. my hoe right now is converted to 2wd due to the front end needing to be rebuilt.

i think i have alot faster times in this thing but i can't prove it when **** breaks.
