Default I need help 4l60e

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado it has a 4l60e when i put it in drive nothing happens it feels like your in Neutral it only goes in reverse it does not go forward at all what could be the problem.

sounds to me that you have a forward clutch failure with no forward gears will it move in man 2 or man 1? if not then you will be looking at getting a new unit more than likely the forward sprag broke

thanks i wish i could get one u guys sell they seem like sumthing i need but im bout to have a kid an i dnt realy got much cus im still paying docter bills from when i got shot sorry but thanks for the help

well good luck withthe kid I hope it all works out you could still consider the level 1 it is priced at about what it is going to take for yours to be fixed at a shop. the bad thing the part is only about 30 bucks but it requires removal and teardown at least to the input drum.
you could also take advantage of the layaway which will lock in the 20 off

I have seen this happen when the output shaft brakes just behind the front planet. Unfortunately the unit needs to be rebuilt. Vince
