Lol! yeah....that catches a few people out....including me when I ordered a new 'drivers side' door handle.
I now have a spare passenger side door handle.

I am getting a "Service Brake Booster" in the messenger center. Guess it doesn't like not having the vacuum pump plugged in. Gonna have to research it.
Did you ever find a solution to this issue?

I see two things wrong with this thread.

1. Now that you've converted to Hydroboost Brakes, make SURE YOU DON'T DO BURNOUTS WHILE STANDING ON THE BRAKES.

Remember how this system works. When you put your foot on the brakes, it uses steering pump pressure to help assist the master cylinder. On hard braking, the pump goes into FULL PRESSURE (theres a tech term for it, but Im laying low so I dont get in trouble).
Full Pressure + High RPM = HEAT = KABOOM = FIRE

2. Don't mount it upside down. The point of the discharge and bleed off return ports being on top, is to be able to purge air out of the actuator.

It's best to purchase a matching system so you get the right hoses and pressure of pump to do the job.
Preferrably 04 components or newer.

I asked Hydratech about mounting orientation and they said there is no problem mounting it upside down?
I know many people who have done the same.
Also...from what you're saying...if someone had an accident and the throttle got stuck. If they hit the brakes they'll blow the system apart and end up with a fire???

Mechanically it will work, but you may not be able to get all the air out. There are MANY cavities in that unit.
Mabee they have a circuit that's unique, and self bleeding. I dunno.
What I DO know, is that your dealing with Hydraulic fluid. And air bubbles in hydraulic circuits are a no-no.

It's not that quick.
Besides, how many accidents do you know of that people are standing on the gas and the brakes? As soon as you jam on the brakes, engine RPM drops sharply. If the throttle sticks, common sense says, shut the vehicle off.
I'm talking about full brake, and hard throttle for smokey burnouts.

What's different about 04+?

Many, many people in an accident situation do not think to shut off the ignition when their throttle is stuck open.
I have witnessed this many times and infact have run upto a car and reached in and switched the key off for someone who was in a panic and had the throttle stuck wide open with their foot planted on the brake (doing a pretty decent burnout for an old sheila Lol!).
I don't think these unts would pass DOT or any other inspections if this was a possibility.
I'm not callling you a liar so please don't get upset....I'd just like to know where you got the information? Are you in the industry?

Wow, I did not know this, can anyone else confirm this? I was plannin on doing this at some point but I also like doing my burnouts at the track and...elsewhere and if it's gonna be a problem I'd more than likely go with a vacuum assist.

Anyone?
