Actually, in that picture the accumulator piston should have popped out, but you can tell its stuck in there.
haha, a couple swift wacks with a screwdriver and it popped right out and now moves freely.
So I now have a spare master cylinder and hydroboost off of a 2005 2500hd if anyone wants to buy one.
I am pretty confident that was the problem, but I have to install it back first...(knock on wood).
edit:
Yep, works great, I can lock up the tires at any speed below 60 now, and thats saying something for 35" 115 pound tires.
And to think I spent 3 days trying to figure this out when all it needed was to be hit a couple times.

Got mine in yesterday and wow does it stop! While I'm obviously getting higher (brake) line pressure (the truck stops harder/faster), the pedal pressure seems higher/stiffer. It feels more like a manual brake pedal. Is this typical/something to get used to?

just wondering why some of you changed your master cylinder? i dont know if the ss truck differ but mine bolted right up and wasnt angled or anything , i had the hd one to use but opted to keep mine because it had a larger reservoir.

If you note my post, I stated I also reused the stock (vacuum) master cylinder when I did my hyrdroboost conversion. It not only saved me the effort of bleeding the brakes, but also saved me a bit of money since I was able to return the unused HD master. Been working beautifully now for over a month/5K miles.
