How to seperate tranny and driveshaft?

Default How to seperate tranny and driveshaft?

I have absolutely no idea how to do this and was wanting to know ahead of time. Any help is appreciated!

there's 4 - 11mm bolts holding the two caps on the rear u-joint at the differential, then remove the carrier bearing mount for 2 piece driveshafts. after getting those off the driveshaft can be pushed toward the tranny a little and swing the rear of the driveshaft down and then just pull it out of the tranny, it's a slip yoke

be careful when you pull the shaft out of the tranny, fluid will leak out.

If the tranny is full of fluid, will it all come out?

you wont leak much at all if the truck is level maybe 1/2 quart.
