Default how much power are you guys running through your 6l90E

looking into trans swaps, just wanted to know how much power people are running through these new transmissions and how well they hold up. im making about 550 AWH now and will be making about 600 once the trans issue is taken care of.

i though it would be a cool swap

Not really a viable swap right now, unless your going to swap to an LS2 and a E38 PCM so it can control the T43 TCM the 6L90 needs. No one is making a standalone controller for the 6l90 yet which is what you would need to use it behind your 6l and Delphi PCM.

Ya, I believe it's Powertrain Control Solutions. They've been supposedly working on it for close to 2 years and every time some one enquires to them, they are "still working on it" But don't seem to be making any progress. Believe me, I would like to have one of these tranys in my truck.

i have to look into the tuning but i wounder if the PCM and TCM could be piggy backed on the the stock 6.0L computer to run both??

alot of wiring and will not be worth it, im sure someone will come out with the standalone unit soon, still would like to know if these transmissions hold up or not??

any turbo 07 and up denali out there???

People much smarter than me have said that the basic design of the 6L80/90E transmissions is weak, and if you plan on making lots of power, a 4L80E is the way to go.

true but when they first started to make power they said the same thing about the 4l60, im not afraid of tring something new, besides, no one seems to want these things and sell cheap

i will probly go to a 4l80e before they come out with a standalone controller lol

I can't comment on the strength of it but the 1st to 2nd split is huge and even more pronounced with torque management. That and it takes so dang long to shift, I'm just not sure I'd want one.

I emailed PCS to see where they stand with making the controller for them,

The trannys are cheap, I think cuz there is no market for them. We'll see, once there is way to control them.

They are rated for 550hp stock in the cars. the Cadillac CTS V is making 551 at the engine with its 6.2 SC LSA engine.

Rated for much less power in a truck application though.
