I have a Level 5 65E done up by Chuck and Vince... you are well aware of their talents having their 80E live behind your blue monster... my 5.3 with just a handful of bolt ons killed 4 other transmissions until I gave them a call and got it right... now, my 5.3 with 224/227 cam, 150 wet shot, SS3600 Yank, and many other bolt ons wont even make my FLT sweat...

I think you'd be good with their level 4 in that thing honestly... everyone discounts them but the 4 is a strong trans as well...

It is. It is a Tremec TR-3450. I know all the 05's at least have it, but to make clear it isn't a Joe Gibbs optioned trany or clutch, its the same as in a std truck.

I was mainly refering to my getrag in my 95 pickup. My problems with it were right after I got it I busted the front input brg powershifting it. Come to find out it was over an inch low on fluid and the front brg is the highest one. I had been making noise for a month or so before it broke. I new better but my brother had just gotten a GTP grand prix and I had to try and show him up. The next thing to go was part of the shifter linkage due to powershifting. GM had upgraded the piece and made it stronger on the replacement. It currently has 185k miles on it and has been behind a 10:1 camed 383 for the last 30k miles. I sprayed a 150 shot on it a couple times as well. Never have put slicks on it though but i've driven the hell out of it for the past 130k miles and had it at the track a few times.

I'm a firm believer that a big killer of the 4L60E is some of the tunes people are getting. Removing 100% T/M on even a stock truck seems to eat 'em up. I've got near 100k miles on mine and changed the fluid and filter when I did the converter about 25k miles ago. It shifts like it did the day I bought the truck. I have a bone stock 6.0 that only made 300/300 on a Mustang dyno, but I beat on it daily.

Mine lasted 3 weeks after a pully change and tune on the magnacharger. That was with an HD2 and servos with 15% tq management taken out.

-pulled mine out last year and added 5 gear planetary for frt and rear, and used factory sun shell (which are finally holding up for me). Only aftermarket parts I used, input sprag and shift kit. Pulled all torque management out of trans and have shift pressures very high. I run mine every weekend in bracketing racing running 7.60's in 1/8. No problems. Hell, I have more problems twisting axles and tore apart factory driveshaft.
