How long will 4L70E Last?
#1
Hey everyone
I'm picking up a 07 VortecMax truck, extended cab, 4x4, 3.73 and am curious about how much abuse the tranny will take.
Since I don't want to dish out the cash to get a Denali, I'm planning to do a bunch of quick mods to the truck along the lines of:
GMPP intake
Corsa catback exhaust
Long tube headers
Computer Tune
This truck will never see any racing at the track, but I just want more get up and go since I'm switching over from an SRT8 Jeep (which is for sale, PM me if you're in Alberta and curious). With just street duty, abit of towing and some full throttle runs a few times a week how long until the transmission bites the dust?

The 4L60E in my 2005 Z71 was slipping from day one and left a bad taste in my mouth. My dealership said it was normal operation and wouldn't touch it.
