How to figure Gear Ratio's????

Default How to figure Gear Ratio's????

Just like the title says. How do you figure out your gear ratio's for...

1st Gear
2nd Gear
3rd Gear Ect.... I have stock 3.23's so i was just wondering because Im going to the track this weekend and want to know if it is worth taking off in 1st gear or just leave it in Drive and go for it. None the less still want to know how to figure out the ratio's

Transmission Specs from GM for 4L60E. Look on the web site for Chevrolet

1st = 3.06
2nd = 2.48
3rd = 1.00
4th = .70
Reverse = 2.29

Just leave it in drive and take off, it's going through all the gears still anyway and it'll be more consistant from run to run unless you're one bada$$ column shifting fool.

Also to all out there "smokemup.com" has a large amount of calculators, you have to register at the site, but well worth access to the calculators, take a visit well worth the time.
