Default Hey, Vince (@ FLT)...

How come you didn't mention this to me last week (see bracketed words)...

JFWY... we still cool! You da man!

I guess b/t work & my 100-mile round trip commute 5 days a week, with less than 5 hours of sleep every night is finally catching up. It took me from 8am til 5pm to shake the tired feeling off so I could make some progress with the trans. Anyhow... here's some pics from today.

Drilled & tapped hole for adapter

Cleaned the shavings away, then shot the trans with compressed air

Wanted to check the pistons... had a feeling about something. You'll see why.

Lucky for me, I had a spare. The orange/pink trans pays for itself in parts. Ok, here's the adapter...

While I was in, I decided to remove this...

Hopefully, the 1-2 shift won't be as neck-snappin'. I ran into a little problem, and decided that I'll be tool shopping tomorrow for a grinder of some sort (see first pic in post).

Maybe I'll get to finish this sometime soon. Goin' drink more beer now.

Bring me a grinder, and I shall! How do you think I feel... motivated to finish, and I run into a brick wall.

At this rate, I might be obligated to pursue a job building transmissions. Thanks, Vince! If I can't get a new piston locally on tomorrow, you'll see another order next week. Saw what I needed on the site when ya called.

southern_chevy - I'm looking to dump the plastic piston for an aluminum one. I have a spare plastic one, but I'll wait until I get an aluminum one before reassembling the trans.

tootall - You are correct.

99silver - So I've heard. That's why I've decided to get an aluminum one.

Vince - As always... thanks for the insight!
