Help?? Silverado manual trans questions
Can someone help me with this, my truck has a nv3500 5-speed, i want to upgrade to a t56 out of a 2002 camaro ss and then change my rear gears to a 4:11 or higher? Guys are telling me the front plate on the t56 is a shifter mount plate blocked off so i can unblock it and bolt on my shifter and not have to cut a new hole in the floor of the truck? What all is involved in doing this swap and keeping it factory looking? WHAT ALL WIRES WILL HAVE TO BE DONE? PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT...

I am about to swap out my NV for a T56 here shortly. I am going with 4.88's in the rear. I would go 4.56 at a minimum. Remember the NV has a 4.02 first vs the T56 2.66.
As far as the shifter you need a relocation kit to move it to the front hole. I just picked mine up and I will post some pics of the install. You have to modify the shift rail and use the shifter that comes with the kit, not quite as simple as moving the stock one (its a different size too). With the shifter up front you only have to cut a notch out of the stock hole instead of having to totally cut a new hole.
Since you already have a manual like I do it will make the swap much easier. I will be posting pics and write up when I get around to my swap, hopefully in the next month or so.
Even though this is A4-M6 it still has TONS of good info. This is where I started...
