Or are you talking about the round connector? If so is which way should the pigtail be facing. I was thinking when originally had the round connector on my other 80e it was facing the rear now this time it is facing forward. It seemed that that was the only way it would go.

Could I hook a scanner up to the truck and possibly find the root of the problem?

I would not think that internal wiring could be an issue because it is used for the solenoids and really has nothing to do with starting the truck. Hell unplug it and see if the truck starts?

The rear is the for VSS and the front is the ISS or turbine.

If you look at the main harness plug and the case connector there is a "key way" so to speak that only allows it to be plugged in one way. I still do not think this is your issue.

I will try unplugging the nss tomorrow.

Regarding the ISS and VSS. I retained the old 65e vehicle speed sensor connector for the rear and the new connector i added up front for the Input so I know the speed sensors are correct.

Ok thanks for clearing the case connector up.
You are the man Vince I appreciate your input.

So I guess I can rule out the case connector.

I remember a while back when the wiring I did for the new iss came undone and I had these same symptoms. I simply reconnected the wiring and it fixed the issue. I checked for this problem again and no luck.

I read somewhere about "grounding the prndl switch". this is in the same black box as the nss right? How would you go about doing this anyway?

When I said to unplug the harness to see if the truck starts I was talking about the main case connector for the internal wiring for the trans. Like I said I do not think your issue is there. Yes the NSS or the PRNDL is the black box on the side of the trans. This where I think your issue is at or the wiring for it. I do not know what you are talking about grounding the switch. I guess where ever you got this info you should ask there. If I had to guess they are grounding a wire that will complete a connection for park or neutral if I had to guess.

The clip on the cable is broke on mine and will not let me go into park sometimes.

Maybe we are passed this but do you have all your grounds connected?

Have you tried to manually (at the lever on the trans) put it in Park or Neutral to start it?
