Sounds like an issue with the neutral switch/wiring on the side of the trans.

THat's what I am thinking. I tried 2 different nuetral safety switch boxes already (the one that hooks the shifter linkage if that's what it's called) Still no start. I am puzzled

Did you check to make sure all the fuses are good?

if the NSS is bad enough out of adjustment it will cause a no-start also. Check your wiring and connections and try again. a little dielectric grease in that connector will keep water out as well.

fuses are good

How do you check if the nss is out of adjustment? I have adjusted it by the slotted holes but is there another way because that didn't work.

Hold the key in the start position and move the shifter while keeping you foot on the brake. If the engine starts to crank its safe to say the switch is out of adjustment.

put the truck in reverse, obviously with the parking brake on and/or truck in the air you rotate the switch until the reverse lights come on, then snug it up. It may not be the right way to do it I guess but its always worked for me.

if your wiring is not right all together though this may not work.
