Default Help me pick a tire General Grabber UHP's or Toyo Proxes STII

Well I am stuck on 3 different tires for my 17's... The are 7.5 wide so keep that in mind...

Option #1 General Grabber UHP's 275/60/17... I currently have a set of 16's that I really like, absolutely no problems out of them... Best wet tire i have ever had!!! The hook great at the track too!

Best price shipped to me = $538.20

Option #2 Toyo Proxes ST II 275/60/17... New tire, not much reviews on them, but they carry the Proxes name so that has to account for something...

Best price shipped to me = $521.29

Option #3 Toyo Proxes ST II 285/60/17 ... Same as option #2 but a little wider and taller....
Best price shipped to me = $537.71

General Grabber UHP

Toyos Proxes STII

I have a set of Generals also and love them. Why chance trying something else when what you have works?

Toyo doesn't recommend a 285 on a 7.5" wheel

My vote is for the original proxes from TD4less. I got my proxes for $80 each. The new proxes look like ****.

Ah, that sucks. In that case I would go with the STII's, eventhough they are ugly. I am extremely happy with my Proxest S/T so if the new ones are better performance wise, they should be awesome tires. Generals came on my truck stock, and holy **** they were horrible. A couple burnouts and CHUNKS of tire were coming out.

I voted for the wider Proxes mainly because I'm happy with my Proxes and they look cooler than the Generals IMO...plus I like wide tires. They're wider than Toyo recommends, but I know that a 285 will work on a 7.5 inch wheel and not bulge out excessively. I had 285/75's on my factory 16" wheels before I lowered my truck. But if you currently have Generals and are happy with them, why switch and possibly end up with a tire that you're not happy with.
