im really considering going with the 285/60/17, the more meat the better, i bet it will look real good as well, you will need the extra meat when you put that 6.0 in there!!

Do the General's seem to hook better than other brand tires, on the street?

That is what i was kinda thinking too, but I was worried about the bulge from the wider tire, but then again it is only 1 size wider... I have noticed that my general are kinda looking chunky (meaning very small chunks missing) after about 20+ track passes with burnouts...

I run 285/70/17 and the toyo's are too hard to find locally. I did find a full set of Hankook ST H06's in my size, got America's tire co. to price match $503 mounted/balanced but am still not sure if they will be a big step down from the Toyo or not? Didin't mean to hijak just wanted to add that option for those of us running or interested in running this size.

I run those and I like em. but i'm still running 3.42's. I can't get any credible insight to grip until i get my trans fixed and the 4.11's and truetrac installed.
but so far they've had great traction.

only when I make 100% turns it will rub on the fender skirt but no, no issues.
