only discrepancy I know of is in regards to cars vs trucks. Input shafts are different b/t those applications (along with the pump). You should be fine. If you're wondering what they look like, I have a pic posted somewhere on PT (search via 'posted by user').
As for PTC, I have one that is shuddering BADLY now. Bought it used (or so it looked). It worked fine for about a year. Started shuddering about a month ago.
I'm saving to buy a Yank 3200. Despite what that ONE shop told you, I've heard nothing but great news about Yank. Comments about PTC's brand have been heard to be similar to that of Fuddle. Not to influence your decision, but...
Have also heard nothing but great raves about Precision Industries (PI... maker of Vigilante line of TCs). FLT sells PI converters. Those are the higher quality ones, so you know the old saying... you get what you pay for.

PTC makes awesome verters...
go to any mustang site and read about them...
like turbomustangs.com
most all of the big dogs on there run PTC or Neal Chance...
alot buick guys run them too, I believe...
