for the hardcore guys, Panard bar, Torque arm setup
#11
you can buy a bolt on air type 4 link and adapt it for coilovers... put a watts link or panhard bar and it will keep everything located and be adjustable depending on how you put it together. Using spherical rod ends would make it WAY more adjustable and get you the best possible setup given the parts list...

Hey there guys,
Just a thought, My dads 67 chevy pickup has a 3 link set up from the factory. I believe from 63ish to around 70ish all chevy 1/2 tons and possibly 3/4 tons were three link with coil overs. Also, in the early NASCAR days they would rob this system from a pickup and graft it onto the cars. He has had this truck for around 20 years that i can remember. Bout 10 years ago i talked him into lowering it. 3/5 with just a change of coil springs and shocks. Rides ok and has hauled alot of crap in the back several thousand miles. You could probably do some measureing and with a welder graft this system onto your trucks.
have a nice day.

That's call a truck arm suspension, and they work quite well, but that too would require relocating the gas tank.
I worry that running leafs with a pan hard/watts with a torque arm would cause some binding like a ladder bar setup. In which case you'll need to run a housing floater setup. That's not too big of a deal though since they bolt on and are under $100.

I still think that just a toque arm with a shackle type front mount on it would work the best for a setup like this. It would help with spring wrap tremendously and be pretty easy to make and weld on for some one with a little bit of fabing skills. Or you could buy a race car one from www.speedwaymotors.com and adapt it to you truck.
