half shafts

Default half shafts

anyone have these crap out on them? if so any tips on swapping them out. thanks in advance

also anyone know of a good place to get them? dealer wants 531 and change a piece.

Advance Auto parts, Auto Zone, etc.

Its pretty straight forward to swap them. The 6 bolts on the diff, one big nut on the outside end of the cv behind the little dust cover in the center of the rotor. IIRC you might have to unbolt the shock from the lower mount.

its really easy to swap them out.. i have had them blow out of my caddy a few times man, i have looked into this for a long time, if you plan on makin lots of hp. look at gettin some custom ones made.. otherwise like the man above me says, check out those places, they will prolly give you a core charge for yours too

Default this blows

thanks for the replies. but i got my front end apart today only to find out that the wheel bearings are bad. do these get pressed out or do you replace the hub and bearing as an assembly? it looks like it unbolts from the knuckle with three bolts.

The hub and bearing comes as an assembly as far as I know...

yes, the hub is all one unit with the bearings built in and the abs plug in coming out of it. Just has 3 bolts holding it in from the back.
