I relieze this is not a locker, but if im in 2wd and one tire is on snow and one is on pavement, will i still not move like with my open diff? just wondering how effective it is, its way to easy to light up one tire when driving in cold weather and i dont always want to be in 4wd

as far as install, is it DIY? ive done motor swaps and cam installs, but never messed with a rear end.

I assume you guys are using the 10bolt 8.5" that came in 1500's? ive got a 4wd w/3.73s, looking for something that could potentially hold up to a little extra power (low 300'swhp)

It might spin one tire. But if you give it just a little brake pressure it will spin two then.

Rear ends are kind of a pain in the ***, Ive never done it myself but Ive helped friends do a few.

Yes, thats the rear most here are using, the true trac will def hold up for you.

Like 1989k1500 said, the true trac is gonna be ur best bet! Nice road manners and always locks up on pavement. Offroad they work well to, with what you sound like your gonna do it will be the best bet.

If you are not gonna change gears, the true trac that I put in for a friend of mine went in with the factory shims and tightened the backlash up 1 point from 8 to 7 so it was fine. I would def try that b4 you waste time trying to re-shim it for no reason.
