Default Guys running 4l80e's and ORY's step inside...

I'm thinking of doing the 4l80e swap and was wondering what has to be done to modify the ORY to make it work with the 4l80e. Any pics or suggestions would be appreciated. I have Pacesetter longtubes and ORY going to a corsa exhaust. I'm very happy with my current exhaust setup and really don't want to change too much. Thanks in advance

not sure how much this will help, but ive had two Y pipes on my 80e, as well as a turbo crossover. And I have a deep finned 80e pan. The fin on the passeneger side is super close, but could easily be grinded down for more clearance. The Y pipes were two different stock models, one from around 00, the other 05.

Pan has fins like this. around a 16th inch of clearance.

pan

I've been doing a lot of researching on the 4l80e, and I read somewhere in an old thread that the pacesetter ory won't work with the 4l80e setup. Just looking for what other people did or any pics would be very helpful!

All I can tell you is the Dynatech Y with cats cleared everything fine.

I've read your whole swap thread at least 3 times, but I can't remember how much clearance you had--it was close though, right?

That's a lot of reading

No closer than the 60e except at the tangs that I cut off of the bell housing. They might have touched a header tube. May actually have more clearance where the drivers pipe swings over to the passenger side. They might have touched a header tube.

Yeah, I saw where you cut or grinded off a couple of useless tabs on the 80e. Maybe that's what the other member was talking about when he said the ory wouldn't work with the 80e swap.

my stock 4l80 and pacesetter ory fit just fine. there is plenty of clearance but with a deep pan there would probably be problems.
