Gto ls2 and transmission into 08 Silverado

Default Gto ls2 and transmission into 08 Silverado

NEED HELP, so I found a really good deal on a gto 6.0 gen 4 block/ 4l65, I have a gen 4 08 Silverado that could use a swap can I swap the trans and engine into the truck, what would I have to change to do so? Any help needed would be great as I want to order this Monday or Tuesday thanks

if your truck's a gen4 v8 engine, the motor swap should be pretty straightforward. i'd recommend keeping your truck's intake manifold & front accessory stuff (basically just changing the block/heads).

i don't know much about automatic transmissions, though, but the 4L65 was only some minor internal updates from the 4L60 (i may've read about some electronic differences), so it could also be an easy swap, too... so long as the output matches your drive shaft's spline count.

The LS2 on the E40 computer is a 24x crank trigger I believe. His 2008 truck uses a 58x. So he'd have to deal with that still.
