I've had wheels hubs replaced tie rods, ball joints, idle pivot assembly, brakes and ISS. There's not much left and the lack of oil situation made me suspicious. Especially once I added oil and it seemed a little better but maybe I'm just crazy. I was also thinking maybe it was the coil over ends needing grease. Gonna try that tomorrow. Any other ideas? I had Firestone redo my alignment twice and they are always eager to replace something and make some money.

Very well could be.... Kinda need to hear it, check to see if any of the steering lines are rubbing or touching anything.... I am having an issue with my truck with the steering getting hard as hell but i have replaced everything but the power steering cooler.... I have an upgraded valve for the pump, havent had a chance to install it yet.... But when i do i think im going to pull the pump and get it warrantied out and put the valve in the new pump.... And possibly replace the pulley just on the off chance that the pulley is bad, that and i want the nnbs style oulley with the openings in it, make changing pumps alot faster....

Is the power steering pump from a 2500hd stronger? Are you saying the NNBS pulley fits ours and its easier to take off?

The nnbs pulley should fit, brackets are same and i cant see them having changed the oump shaft, but some of the nnbs ps pulleys are holes in them rather than being solid so it would make it easier to remove the pump.... Wouldnt have to pull the pulley off each time!

The hydroboost pump is supposed to have a higher volume valve in it, and there is also an upgraded valve you can get from gm for about $30 that is supposed to remedy the low speed hard steering issues these trucks seem to have, mine did it before the engine swap hydroboost conversion, etc.... Wonder if i dont have a bad ball joint or something seizing up when i turn, but ive tried greasing everything, removing my steering stabilizer, and a few other things to try to eliminate it, even pumping my tires up to 45 just to eliminate low tire pressure being the issue.... And i have replaced the hydroboost the pump and the gearbox with no change!!! Only thing i havent replaced is power steering cooler.... Which is on return side of the system so unless its really restricted i can see ut causing the problem....
