Getting 4l60e to stay in 1st
#1
The other day I was out beating on my truck, doing some burnout and donuts. Realized that even if I put the trucks in 1st while doing a break stand, it would eventually just shift into 2nd on it's own. If I stayed below like 4500rpm ish it would hold first, but after that it would just go into 2nd. Is this normal? Anything I can do to stop that? Thanks!

Its basically an idiot prevention feature built into the factory tune. Aside from installing the HD2 kit, if you have EFI Live or HP Tuners you can hold each gear using the software.

I have a black bear tune, with the tow/haul button option, that I never use, but I wonder if Justin can make that happen. Just have it do its normal duties with the button off, and when on, give it the ability to hold first, when placed in first. ill have to PM him. Thanks fellas.

is that "feature" only on older trucks? my 2010 silvy would hold 6k rpm all day in first gear, burnouts, donuts, whatever you wanted. that was with the stock tune and with a predator tune.
