Default Gear/stall combo

what should i do.
Street/Strip truck. It is also my DD.

I want to be able to mess around more on the street than just having a fast ET. Like better get up and go, easier accelleration, and somewhat good highway punches. This truck is too heavy, and the 3.42s arent cutting it

4.10s and the 3k stall will obviously shine at the track, but you will sacrifice some mpg to get that. If you do a lot of HWY then 3.73 and 3K stall would be a pretty good compromise to get decent mpg on cruise when the converter is locked up. 4.10 and stock converter will probably get you the best around town mpg, but less on the HWY and probably not launch as hard as the 3.73 and 3k stall. Tough choice!

just FYI, i only lost 0.4 mpg when i went from 3.23 to 4.11

the stall makes a huge difference getting it moving, and the gears/shift points make the rest. my truck is night and day difference between stock and now.

That is problem im having. Would it be better to keep a longer gear ratio and make up for it with a stall?

anyone know the MPH differences between 3.73s and 4.10s?
