Default gear indication

hey guys don't know if this is the right spot to post this. or if I am crazy for thinking it.

the truck is an obs half ton with a column shift. that has a custom gage cluster in.

where my problem is now that I did the custom cluster. I lost the gear indicator in the cluster that was just a cable attached to the column.

is there anyway to wire in a gear indicator light from the transmission or computer?

counting clicks and trying to remember what gear I am in just seems counter productive.

thanks
drew

Dakota Digital should have a sender you can use for that. Or maybe you could use a 1995-up range switch and swap out the shifter linkage stud for the 1995-up one to accommodate it (it's longer) ?

Think I am going to put a 1" OLED in my dash beside the Holley digital dash for a shifter position indicator. Will wire the range switch to a small circuit board that controls the OLED.

if you want to build 2 let me know as that's probably a little above my pay grade lol.
