Im shur this has been asked before but how strong is a g80 with 4.56 gears in it? im gunna be running a 4k stall in my new setup and im a little worried about the rear end, im thinking 1.7 60 foots and low 1.6s with spray, should i be worried??

In a straight line, G80's aren't bad; I have read of people running them into the low 12's with 100k miles already on them without a hiccup. But act like a dumbass and do donuts and hang the back end out around corners, and even a stock engine will bust one.

im running 4:56's with a stock g80, but with your setup it's only a matter of time before
save yourself some time and heartache, buy a tru-trac

a true trac is whats going in it if it blows but i cant aford one just yet, but i was hoping i could run it this summer, i dont want to break it till i got the money for the true trac, or else it will down forever again.

If you are going to install everything yourself, go for it. But if you are going to have the gears and TrueTrac later both professionally installed, save yourself double the installation cost and down time and put the gears on the shelf and save up for the truetrac. Just my $.02

Yeah i will be doing all the work myself, i have the gears in there already and i was gunna order some slicks but now im a little stuck between going ahead with the tires or getting the locker, tires wont help me any if i cant floor it!

You should be able to floor it and run it out hard, but just as TX Tahoe Z71 said, if you abuse it, it will break. One of the items that is hard on them in my mind (according to how they function) is actually heating up the tires doing a burnout, the unit is locked and then all of a sudden when it gets up to X mph the counterweights unlock it, which happens to be at or close to full throttle, it has to be one hell of a shock load. My G80 lasted for about 8 years, but I'm AWD so it was under a shared load, but once it got to where I was spinning all 4 it shattered fairly quickly.
