Default G-tech runs with stock TC, compaired to 2800 ART CARR

I thought I'd go see what I could run using the G-tech today.
I've only got two runs into the 12.8 range. The first one I got was at the track when I went 13.1 @113. the G-tech claimed I went 12.8 @ 106.
And the other g-tech 12 was today......

Things that were different....

At the track, 12.807 @ 106.94 with a 1.89 60"
ART CARR 2800 torque converter
Built 167 kpa of brake boost @ 3576 rpm
IAT started at 111 and hit 129
Shift points were 5200
Max kpa 172.8
a/f was between 11.3 and 12.0 (with a 10:1 until I hit 22mph)
advance was 12*
Meth was not alwas working.
SD tuned using stock IAT location.
No tail gate, (race weight)
Converter locked at 60 mph (slipping 314rpm)

Today, 12.874 @ 107.3 with a 2.024 60"
Stock 4l80e converter (with stock tunning)
Built 122 kpa @ 2620 rpm
IAT started at 91 went to 61
Shift points at 5000
Max kpa 172.8
a/f was between 11.3 to 11.6:1 (with a 10:1 until 20 mph)
Advance was 16*
Meth working
Converter locked @ 80 mph (slipping 19.2 rpm)
SD tuned with IAT sensor inside intake (no maf)
Did not pull anything off truck (street weight)

SO,,,, It looks to me like I lost a little. I did run at the track on the first of this month with every thing the same as today minus the torque converter, but My best was a 13.4 @ 106 Time slip and g-tech was almost exactly the same..

I think with a bit more tuning I could get my 60" down, plus today it shifted into 4th at 106mph
So until I ride in a truck with a killer torque converter, I'll save my money.

I was kinda wondering the same thing, those shifts seem wayy low. I shifted my stock motor at 6K and my cammed motor to 6400.

They are low, but I don't really like spinning higher RPM's than I have to. I'm going to set them for 5,500 rpm. I would go higher but the lq4 is bone stock other than the 918's. and the times seam pretty good to me.

Shift extension is where stand to gain alot. The rule that I go by and many others is 10% past your peak. FYI I spun my 180K 5.3 up to 6800 everyday for quite a while, a lifter is what took it out, but they were old and tapping anyway. Do a few runs bumping the shift points up higher. Dont be a pansy

disclaimer: I take no responsability for the ensuing carnage

I realy don't see the need to raise it up above 5500 rpm until it is built. (I realy do but I can't aford a 408 this winter like I had planed.) so this little old lq4 has got to last for about 16 more months.........

Why don't you show me how high the lq4 can spin up with that new set-up you got comming.
